No offense, your post put a smile on my face. Our dear Miss BooBoo Kitty(RIP), behaved the exact way!!! Not so much the growls and hisses as other cats walk by, but Boo was notorious for giving ALL the other cats in our house the whack to the back of the head!!!! I think it is just your cat's personality. If it helps to know, Boo did mellow a bit as she got older, but she continued the whacks to the back of the head until the day she went to the Bridge!!! I do not think Lake is like this because she was raised by humans, I think it is LAKE!!

I think cats are just like people--they come with all different types of personalities.

Our Becky is somewhat like Lake. She's always swatting Abby or a human.

"What are you looking at?" POW
"Don't think about touching me!" POW
    "Don't get near me!" POW

She's got a mean right hook.
Becky still loves attention and cuddling, but only on her own terms.

I think Lake is just the way she is, although she'll probably mellow in years to come.

    Spoiled cat, good

Gotta agree it's just Lake. My Petey is five years old and everyone is afraid of her, except me. Wilbur is lucky she is de-clawed. Bap. Pow. Slam. I call her my Ali - sting like a bee! (Or course I will never again de-claw a cat. I didn't research enough before I made that cruel choice!)
But anyway, Petey needs her space, and demands to keep it.
