Did you make the earrings and bracelet you sent me? I wasn't sure! That necklace is gorgeous, I've always wanted to try bead work and making jewelry. That's really beautiful!

What technique do you use to make the amulet bags? I've made some leather ones, but my favorite thing is peyote stitch (or some variation).

I've beaded or woven around little glass bottles and hung them on necklaces--put a little essential oil in the bottle, and you've got wearable aromatherapy. Or you can carry around an emergency shot of tequila.

LOL! I love the idea of a tequila shot--have I mentioned I'm a big fan of Tequila?

I've done some in peyote. It's a nice stitch for complicated patterns. I usually use brick stitch as I'm more comfortable with it. I recently learned an open net stitch that makes a really nice bag if you don't want a picture in it.

This one is done in the netting stitch. I kept it for myself.

This is a watch I made a while ago. I think my sister got this one for Christmas. I don't have any pics of my bracelets uploaded, but I will get some tonight. (I'm supposed to be working right now! )

finn's_mom: Yes I made the set I sent you at Christmas.

lv4dogs: I got the bear at a local native craft store. If you would like a couple, just PM me your address. I'd be glad to send you some. Nanook was Heyoka's shelter name, but it just didn't suit him at all. Far too serious a name for that big goofball!

I like the netting stitch, too--and it's a whole lot faster than peyote stitch!

I haven't figured out just how to photograph jewelry (lighting is a problem), but here are a couple I've done with the netting stitch:

And here's one of my bottles:

There's something very relaxing and meditative about doing beadwork, don't you think?

The Peyote stitch is my favorite. I love covering pens with it. It cuts down on the number of pens that are stolen from me because no one else can write with them, they are too thick.

    Glacier/CatsinDenver--your work is beautiful!

And, Glacier, that just makes the set all the more special! Every time I've worn them, I get compliments!
