Just be careful about giving treats that change the ph of your dog's urine, it could cause problems with some dogs with their bladder and kidneys.

Thanks Jess for the great sig of my kids!
I love you baby, passed away 03/04/2008
Neither one of my boys lifts a leg yet; one is a year and the other two. I kind of like it because after I come home from the car wash my tires stay clean. Mine also have a very "macho" leaning forward position. LOL
I was actually kinda wondering about this too, cause Bob is like 3-1/2 months old and he is still squatting. About a month ago, he started to lift his leg - just ever so slightly - just a little. Often times he would do this a few secs after he started and raise his leg left in mid stream. So I thought, "this must be normal", like a transitional thing. Every week he'll raise it a little more until it was high and prowd!!! Yeah, here it is. I am a MAN and I am not afraid to show it. But I was wrong, Bob decided that he would go back to squatting. He didn't have any insecurities about his manhood and wasn't afraid to show his softer side. So...No big deal. I thought he might start again in the future, but from what I've been reading (and I must add, it has all been rather amusing), he may not. Cool... that's cool. YOU GO... BOB!!!
Micki was neutered at about 3 months old and he has never really lifted his leg and he's 4 years old. Once is a GREAT while he'll do it, but definately not all the time. I'm not sure when he first started though.
Jack was also neutered around 2-3 months and I first saw him lift his leg right after his first birthday.

Good question!
Wolfie will be 2 and he does NOT lift his leg. I am glad though. This way he wont mark in the house and if i ever see pee on a chair or couch i KNOW who is the guilty boy!
I was reminded of this thread yesterday when I let Bon out.
We live in the country and there is a white horse that lives across the field. If he's out when Bon goes out Bon will usually run to the edge of the fence and bark a few times. But yesterday he went out with his tail straight in the air and hiked his leg on the fenceYep, I think he was marking his house.
Huney, Bon & Simba-missed so very much
