Though fully understanding the writer's kindness, the cat's owner, Mr. Xu Jingrong, says he feels helpless. The family has tried many ways to help the cat control its weight, which the pet has fervently resisted. The large feline has even taken defensive actions like peeing everywhere and scratching people to show its anger.

Named "Wu Huan" by Mr. Xu, the nine-year-old cat now weighs a whopping 15 kilograms with its "waist" measuring around 77 centimeters.
