From my understanding, everyone has a heart murmur. When a doctor tells you that you have a heart murmur, they probably just have a REALLY powerful stethoscope!But if your doctor wants to get it checked out, then go for it - but don't be too worried.
When I was in the ER due to other reasons recently, the surgeon asked if I knew that I had a heart murmur. Well, I've never been told so by *any* doctor or specialist, so no. But when both of my parents went in for the eco, the specialist just said that some doctors have too powerful of stethoscopes and not to worry. My parents told me that when I was freaking out in the ER... lol.
