also, his name is Bubba but he doesn't really answer to it. He answers right away to Nookie. This just tells me that he was probably not given any attention.

Also, I have a STRONG feeling that the owner left him in the backyard and the woman who is watching him just came over to the house and put food and water in his dishes. I just KNOW that this is what happened although its not confirmed. I don't think he's lived in a house for a looooong time... maybe not even his whole life. He sure likes to poop and pee everywhere in my house and I know those people wouldn't let him in.
