He'll also do it if he here's a knock on the door. He's just extra cautious. He'll come out eventually because his curiosity gets the best of him. If he knows you are an animal lover he'll be a lot more friendly to you. If you like to play, he'll love you. Storm is like a dog. He'll usually be right there in the hallway to greet the person. Pepper can be very outgoing or very shy. It all depends on his mood that day. Cats are so unpredictable.
