Julie,
Sick of people asking, "Are you still here???? Is that baby ever going to come out?" Well, don't fret. If they induce, say the "E" word VERY LOUDLY!!!
EPIDURAL!!
Remember, pharmaceuticals are your friends in times like that.![]()

Oh, Julie, hang in there! "Due dates" are such guess work anyway ...
Perhaps if it comes down to it, you can find some lonely old person to take one of your cats. Poor Connor! What a big ouch!

Thanks for being here for me, my friends!
Catty1, to answer your question re Ally - she was an only cat for 3 years, and I only found out after I had adopted Connor that (1) Connor is deaf, which causes loads of communication issues between them and (2) Ally is very territorial and would be much happier as an only cat.
Johanna - In the short term I don't think it will be an issue - the baby and the kitties will have very little interaction until we start to spend time in the kitchen when the baby goes onto solids. I am very concered that sooner or later Ally will bite the baby - it's unfortunately just her nature.
Maybe I should look into getting some medicine to calm her down, and get it compounded and sent out from the states? (She is impossible to pill).![]()
Donna - I am hoping for a natural birth, but the longer I wait the less brave I feel!!! I may opt for the Epidural if I am not handling the pain well!
Julie, I'm so sorry to hear about Connorand I hope that he and Ally will be able to work out their problems and live in peace. I hope that your labor will be an easy one and that your little girl be healthy. Good luck.

What a hard place to be.Ally is your first, and I know you want to be loyal to her. But Connor needs you too. I can only pray that a solution suitable for all, pops up.
In the meantime......think LABOR!!!![]()
.
Well....maybe some gentle meds for Ally would help - maybe after a spell of time on them, she might "learn".
Why would you have to get them from the USA? Just wondering.
Someone here was mentioning an amazing pet psychic...would you look at that?
hugs
Catty1
I was born two weeks after my mother's due date. My hair and fingernails were so long I had to have my first manicure so I would stop getting my fingers caught in my hair!
I have no words of wisdom on birthing babies but I cannot believe Ally would bite her. Edwina has been known to hiss at a baby (but of course....hissing is just her way of saying "hello") but cats need a pretty good reason to bite.
I have very limited access to vet care here - none of the vets will compound medicines, they only offer pills, and Ally is impossible to pill.Originally Posted by Catty1
I have already had a session with a great pet psychic - I have done everything I can to change the things in the house which upset Ally (based on the reading), but she is still aggresive.
Sara - I hope you are correct re Ally not biting! Iv'e said it before - she is just VERY lucky that I love her SOOO much !!

I love my precious kittens and I hope they have long and happy lives filled with love.
Cats and dogs arent pets, theyre family members that need the same respect as humans. Would you dump your children out in the countryside to fend for themselves??
I hope your labor isn't to bad. I confess I can't relate, but from one I've heard epideral is definately a word to remember!!
Mau is like that she can't stand MC. When I first brought him home I had her attacking and him peeing all over the place. The vet prescribed some kitty valium for him to help with the spraying and I put her in a room on her own when I wasn't home and only let them wander around when I was. I also usually kept a water bottle around in case I heard anything. It took awhile and I still keep her locked in a seperate room when I'm not home which she's fine with since she's left alone and has a cushy bed, but it's no longer a necessity. They've learned to tolerate eachother. He's stopped spraying and although she hisses they usually just walk by eachother.
I'm glad Connor's OK now.
My two cats have had serious fights in the past, although they seem to be doing OK now.
On this forum I once saw a posting about both Feliway and Rescue Remedy as calmatives for cats. I know the Feliway works for my fosters, but it's limited to a single room and expensive.
I have recently purchased Rescue Remedy in case my cats start going at it again so I can give it a try.
The thing about Rescue Remedy is that you can put it in their water...convenient. It's supposed to help with aggressiveness, jealousy, and possessiveness. Sounds like it could help you.
Perhaps somebody else here can testify as to how well it works. I'm sure you could order it from off the Internet.
Good luck. Hope that baby comes soon!
Spoiled child, bad
Spoiled cat, good
I hope you works things out. Felicia has never liked Beau, but they haven't hurt each other.
