Being locked in a room is not a big improvement, IMO. Just as bad as being on a chain. The purpose of the AC saying she needs to be inside because she also needs more social interaction than she is getting.

Honestly, Briana, you told me your Mom loves her in a different way, but if she loved her, why did she ask you if she could rehome Roxy? Because she doesn't love her. She doesn't want her.

That is EXACTLY what I was thinking...

You say you'll work with her but honestly, how many times have we heard that before!?!

I actually think that it's an improvement. She's going to be in air conditioning and she won't have pounds of chain hanging on her neck. Certainly not the ideal situation but I think it's an improvement.

I'm sorry you can't convince your Mom. I definatly have been there with my Dad, except it was my barn cat. You feel so helpless, you have no choice over it, I know.

Feeding 1 cup a day?? Molli eats almost one cup a day, and she's 5 pounds!!

at the kennels I work at we give the dog's roxy size 1 1/2 cups in the mourning, plus gravy. Your need to devently give her more food. At ngiht we give them the same amount. I mean that might even be on the lower side, but we do this because they get tons of cookies their too.

I honestly don't see why you mom could say she loves roxy. I think love is giving a dog all she needs. offiusally in this situation, she isn't gettting all she needs
Thanks so much Ashley for the siggy!

I just saw the picture and was astounded! You can easily see her ribs and spinal cord. Astra is dainty and underweight for her size but I know her ribs don't protrude that much! Some dogs are naturally skinny but not where you can see their ribs. May I suggest that you feed Roxy and Lily some higher quality food. If money is the problem then maybe you should rehome her. I'm sorry to have to give that as an option, but it may be better for her. (((((HUGS))))) to Roxy.
