Jasmine has a chip, but I wanted to put her a collar and may be also a medal because the chip is not visible and if she is lost (there is no reason for it but we never know) people will know she belongs to someone. Microchips are not very common in France so I am not sure everyone will have the reflex to check for it. I had a heck of a time catching her and getting the collar free. But, since we changed to a break away collar this has not happened again. Halo is a very strong, sturdy cat so maybe that's why it breaks away easier for her.
