Its ridiculous to charge more money just for a certain color on a dog URGH this is almost as bas as designer breeds.

A lot of breeders charge more for the pick of the litter. Most show breeders breed for certain colours too. Color is part of the standard.

    They are very pretty dogs.

I find more and more breeds that come in merle every day... even poodles!

Bulldogs are usually very expensive because they have big heads and narrow hips, which means most litters are small, and have to be delivered via C-section.

Just because there is a standard choosing desireable colors over others that may pop up from time to time though doens't make those non-standard colors any more "rare" than the standard ones though, you know? It sucks because breeders often charge more for the non-standard colors because since they AREN'T standard you don't see them as much, so they trick you into thinking they're rare, when they're really not. So they oftentimes get more money for a non-standard dog than for one that follows the standard perfectly!
