    Still no good news.....

We searched all day again today. Today is a holiday in the Yukon so we went door to door--the doors aren't that close together here--and handed out Delta's lost poster. A couple people think they may have seen him, but no one knows for sure. There are so many black and white husky crosses around here!

One of Stuart's friends is convinced that Delta was in his area this afternoon. They live about 4 km from us--not far at all for a husky who's been missing for 15 minutes, let alone one that's been gone for days. He called us right away, but there was no dog in sight when we got there. We walked, drove and walked some more around there most of the afternoon with no luck. We left a blanket and our truck there tonight. Stuart thinks Delta might recognize the truck, especially with a blanket that smells like home under it. His friend is having some health problems that make sleep difficult so he will check through the night and see if Delta has bedded down. It is a nice, safe area if that's where he is. We have another vehicle in case a call comes in about him.

I'm trying very hard to stay hopeful, but it's getting so hard. I miss my digger dog. We had long converstations every morning. Delta loved to follow me around, at a safe distance of course, wooing his fool head off at me and I, being just as big of fool, wooed right back to him. The yard is still full of dogs, but it sure feels empty without him.
