I enjoyed every single picture!! Thanks sooo much for sharing! Your doggies are so beautiful.. they really are true blue sled dogs, aren't they??

    Here's a weird question..

Do they howl at the moon? lol

When I lived in the country, our neighbours had a sled team and they howled every single night. It was really beautiful! I really miss living next to them.. they were the sweetest dogs I have ever met. It almost felt like you were part of their pack..

Ok.. Now I want a Husky.....

Yup, mostly at the full moon. They are nutty on full moon nights. They also howl at the Northern Lights. They answer the coyotes and wolves too. They usually have a group howl 3 times a day--early morning, after dinner and around 10pm.

Welcome Back Glacier!! We've missed you. We can certainly tell the pups have too! Great pics. I can't believe those self inflicted lick wounds of Earle's. Poor baby. Don't worry sweetie, Mom is back so you won't have any more stress! He does look ecstatic now

Welcome back Glacier! Sooo nice to see some of your pack again-- especially Hobo, I just seem to have a soft spot for him! And handsome Earle looks like he's feeling alot more energetic. The meds must be doing him good. I'll bet everyone's glad to see you back - how did Stuart make out with his hand and all?

He did alright. He had some help chopping meat for them a couple times. One of the first things he said to me was "you do a lot of work out there!"

I just love it when you post pics of your dogs Glacier!!! I have to say, besides my cousin Todd, you are inspiring me to dog sled (my parents are often discouraging me)! I have to ask this, where do you get most of your dogs? I am guessing the dog shelter there, but please, correct me if I am wrong!

15 of them are former shelter dogs. We used to foster a lot of long term shelter residents who ended up becoming permanent additions. Most of them had been at the shelter for at least a year. Goldie was there for over two years!

Of the other 8, Muskwa and Earle are the only two who aren't rescues/re-homes of some sort. I stole Bandit from an old neighbor. Sundin, Paxil, Pingo, Hobo, and Sleet all came from other mushers who didn't want them anymore.

That's so neat- do you have any pictures of them howling? I think that is one of the most interesting canine behaviors. I've tried everything to try to get my dogs to howl, playing wolves, dogs, and coyotes howling so I can get it on video, but the only time they ever howl is when they test the fire siren once a month at the station down the road.

Your dogs are beautiful, it's always nice to see pictures of them.

Welcome back!!! Hope you enjoyed your holiday!!! It's obvious that the doggies missed you terribly. So nice to see photos of the group. Love seeing your doggies. Hobo looks squirrly as ever, but I'd love to give him a big hug. Please give them all a big hug and kiss from me!!!
