I'm sooo lucky, my school finishes on the 26th! wheew. so, I (& crayola) hope to be there - will be my first big east gathering.

I'm (crayola also!) very flexible with carpooling, hotelpooling, etc. if anything works out.

karen & paul, will you be passing us, me & lvdogs? if so, maybe we can carpool! *does little happy dance* where do you plan to stay at anyway? I remember you had to have a computer at hotel last year..

mmm, any of you know ASL? (america sign language or at least some fingerspellings?)

Gina, All I know is how to spell my name and say "My Pleasure."

There is a hearing impaired couple who use ASL and it is our company policy to say "My Pleasure" after a customer thanks us - the husband can hear quite a bit and read lips well, so he tells us thank you and everything - We learned how to say "My Pleasure" in finger spellings just for them.

awesome they had that policy! I wish everyone everywhere could have that, would be nice to communicate. so, you don't know the other 14 letters?

one thing though kay (and karen!), hearing impaired - maybe a very few wouldn't mind that phrase, (mostly to people who could hear at least a little) but please be aware most of us (who don't hear at all) would feel offended. we prefer deaf. (or hard of hearing for whose are sonically challenged too). I understand you didn't undermine us, I thought I'd educate you all a bit. just that word, makes me feel like I'm really disabled.
    - (to understand better, please take a look here) -

anyway, I've not check this thread and missed zillion pages. sorry if I miss anything, (skimmed in a hurry to lab work tonight) - are we gonna camp this year or? enough participators? I still need to fill out and sent out crayola's application! agh.. sue, I hope you still know I'm coming.

freckles, I can promise you I won't forget! camera's always in my car.

this is so exciting! so many are coming - I can't wait.. I would have bring some food (pasta salad/banana bread) from menu you listed but I'll be in a heaty car for a couple of hours.. so I guess I'll be bringing what lv4dogs' gonna bring!
rest and sleep softly sweet locke..

    Cats at the park????

I am transporting the kitten I rescued to his new home in Ohio after the PT meeting. He will be 8 weeks old then and is so far very well mannered. He will have his first set of shots by then and I will have Kaige's crate for him to be confined in. If it is not too hot out AND I have my van I can keep him in the van during the cay. But if it is hot out he'd have to be out to prevent heat poinsoning. Because of all the strange dogs I will obviously not be bringing him out of his crate.

Will this be a problem at all?

Your Kitty won't be the First PT Kitty to attend a DAWG Park Gathurin!

We've had at least two kitties - Donna's MooShoo has been there,
and another small kitten spent quite a bit of time down on the grass in a pen -
and never got too riled up with some of the Dawgs giving a *sniff* or two.

There's plenty of picnic tables under the Pavilion -
with room to place the Kitty's Kat-O-Prison in a shady or breezy spot as required.

And the KAT won't need a Park Permit!

Thats great! And George (the kitty) LOVES dogs, in fact he prefers dogs to humans & other cats. lol I'm sure he won't mind some sniffins as long as the doggy is friendly, we don't need a hurt little George.

I know the alphabet and a few words.

I'm really considering going! This sounds like fun. I will talk to the hubbymeister and see if he would like to go. Is there anything else to do in Ohio that would be worth driving there?

***Edit to add, only 247 miles! It's looking better by the moment.

Is it ok for me to bring Maggy even though she's not a bigger dog?

As long as she gets along with other dogs, she'll be fine. There are usually dogs of all sizes at the park, and if she gets intimidated, she can always hang out with the people at the picnic table!

The park it is held in is a huge, beuatiful park system with trails and stuff, but we tend to spend the whole day between the dog area and the pavillion we rent out! Oh, we'd love to have you guys come, and I promise Hugito will get lots and lots of hugs and kisses! 4 Dog Mom would be best to PM about what else is in the area that might lure hubby into coming, she and Cyber-sibes live nearby!

Lobodeb, it's not a bad drive along the lake from Chicago. Dogs of all sizes seem to all get along. plus, I've noticed that those little dogs are QUITE capable of taking care of themselves! They're the ones that back off the bigger dogs! There's alot of smaller local dogs that may be around, too. Several beagles, chihuahuas, and jack russels come to the park.

Hmm, not much going on in Findlay, - Cincy's Mom lives inToledo, there may be more going on up there. 4-dog mother Diana has lived here a long time, she might know more.Findlay's just a quiet community, with some nice restaurants. There is a wonderful museum of illustration art from children's picture books over at the University. I can check on when they'll be open, if you're interested.

That wouldbe greatif you could come Lobodeb! If you head over onthe turnpike to Toledo, and then take 75 South to Findlay, there may be some things of interest in Toledo. There is the zoo, the Art muesem, , Lake Erie, and if they have a home game, Toledo Mud Hens (Triple A baseball), just to name a few things.

I'm surprised that the hubby was actually somewhat interested in coming! We need to work out a few details, but it looks promising. I'm so excited to meet everyone.
