Wow! How interesting to know you lived in all those places. Is Alaska really as beautiful as I have heard? I have always wanted to take a cruise to Alaska.

Alaska is beautiful. It will exceed your wildest expectations. But, you have to like cool weather to really enjoy it. I've never taken an Alaskan cruise, but I imagine that the view along the coast is pretty.

Just realize that unless you plan to stay for a while, you will be seeing just a small part of it. Alaska is 570,373 square miles of land, plus 45,000 square miles of water. It is 2.3 times the size of Texas, 10 times the size of Georgia or Florida and almost 500 times the size of Rhode Island. There are approximately 100,000 glaciers in Alaska. The Malaspina Glacier is LARGER THAN RHODE ISLAND. The Chugach National Forest is about the same size as Massachusetts and Rhode Island combined (I don't know why we always pick on poor Rhode Island).

lisa, I've often thought of your dear precious kuhio and always used her story to everyone who don't mircochips or look enough for their dear ones! I hope that was okay to say, I just never could forget what happened.
