Team Belgium!

Team Belgium is another small European powerhouse-looking for Cat-olympic gold!

Team Germany!!!!!

The proverbial German Powerhouse is has only two teammembers....But what a pair!!!

Team Moldova!!!

Another small, but powerful team....look for them to make a mark on these games!!

Team New Zealand!!!

Their lone entry traveled hours to represent the Kiwi Islands......

The best and brightest have made the trip from this island nation!

Team France!

Another small but very talented Euro team!

The Danes!

An interesting personal story here!
It's rumored that the figure on the medal is none other than Fister..

Ask you can see, the likeness is immediately noticeable!

As you can see, Fister wanted to play it safe after all. In the last minute, he decided to bring his helmet.

That team is so big they have filled the stadium to overflowing!

And now for the Mascot for the Inaugural Winter Games...

Oh, oh....Olly has scurried to the center of the stadium and some of the competitors have seen him.....

OH NO.....there is a mad dash to the stage where the Olympic Flame is to be lit...

OLLY!! LOOK OUT!!! It seems that a mouse wasn't the best choice for a mascot

Pandemonium has broken out, Cats are running everywhere! It's madness out on the floor.......The Security people have fromed a cordon around Olly..

It's O.k., everyone take your seats! PLEASE.....

Well be right back....we are taking a break to have order restored!!!!

WOW, that was close!

Now that we have order restored in the stadium it is time for the lighting of the Olympic Cauldron.

And here comes the Torch...

It's being brought in by..

Edward K Katz.........the firebug..OOPS!...one of the United States cat- thletes

He is approaching the cauldron and the Olympic Flame Has been lit...
Listen to the crowd!!!

Since we have no Italian athlete to take the Olympic Oath, the Oath will be taken by all the Cat-theletes.......

MEOW, meow, meow meow, meow.....

Let the Games Begin!!!!

Welll there you have it, with the exception of the problem with Olly the Mascot , the games are open and now as the stadium empties out and the Cat-theletes head back toward the village, We are going to say goodbye until tomorrow when the competition begins!!!

Hmm.. nothing much to do for referee here... no foul play... no punching below the belt... and so far there are only winners all around... hm..

.. but I wonder... whatever became of out mascot..? If you recall the small .. ehem.. incident in the beginning of these games:
