Well our dog park clearly says no aggressive dogs. I think it would be really hard for me to keep my dogs away from any dog at our dog park, casey gets so excited to go see the other dogs.

Too bad there aren't different areas you could take her our dog park has 2 separate areas, although one side is for small/shy dogs.

To clear things up, I didn't take her to a dog park. I would NEVER. She wouldn't be happy AT ALL. I took her to a human park with a fenced in baseball diamond. IE, it's not ACTUALLY ment for dogs, but they don't use them in the winter. Usually if someone is in there, other people will ask if they can let their dog in (although usuaully people don't use it)

I do have a fenced in yard, but it isn't big enough for them to really exersice like they need

Oh well I am not sure I just know casey is so starved to see other dogs its hard to tell her to stay away. Maybe you could go there when others aren't around to make it less stressful, if that happened to me and someone told me their dog was aggressive I would leash casey up and take her to another spot.

Yes, at my cottage. We have thought about fencing it in, but I guess my aunt doesn't want it (it's her property as well) This time of year there isn't many people out there, and sometimes we let her run out there. Usually my dad though, cause I'm to nervous.

Audrey, is the land/road to your cottage closed during the winter?
Dad said you guys don't have much snow as it keeps melting. So maybe driving up to the cottage would allow her to run about. Since no one usually lives in the cottages, I hardly dout anyone would be up there, & if Josie isn't the kind of dog to run away, she should like it out there

That's what I would do too. There were other dogs there, but they walked past. It's just that this dog came into the place I was. I couldn't help it if the dog got in Josie's space anyway...it wouldn't be her fault. It bugged me that he didn't seem to care. The fence is off of the walking path anyway, it's not like he needed to walk by there...but I don't think he really had much control over his dog and maybe shouldn't have had it offleash

I don't think you did anything wrong. A few of the dog owners in my neighborhood use the tennis courts in the winter time to let our dogs run. There is one lady who does have an aggressive dog, but she only takes her there when no one else is around, and she does guard the gate. Her dog deserves to run as much as anyone else's and has less places where she can actually do that (I have the dog park and even the ball field behind the clubhouse that isn't fenced in), so I don't think anyone minds that she uses the court in the winter when no one else is there. Just be aware of what is going on outside the ballfield to, so that you can leash up and leave quickly.

Yeah, I totally agree with Caseysmom. I would have been totally pissed off by then. But maybe you should talk to your aunt about it and tell her this story.

This is the aunt who made Zeke sit outside in the rain one day that we were over for dinner (keep in mind, Zeke is allowed inside when we are there..we share the cottage..so like one month it's ours, the next theirs) she didn't seem to care that I went outside to eat in the rain with him because he thought he was being punished. Some how I doubt she'd care lol. She knows what he means to me, and if she makes him go outside then she obviously doesn't like pets. *sigh*

I'll just keep hoping we will move to the country sometime.
