I just HOPE that because breeds like Presas and Corsos are becoming popular, it does not mean that stupid people will exploit the power/size/loyalty of the breed as they did Pit Bulls.
Ok someone agrees with me I didn't know if people woulld be mad if I stated that.

I have always loved them and I'm a little scared for them, one part of me thinks that if they recieve AKC recognition, the number of 'akc reg'd pups, $800' type breeders who only have registration to show for will skyrocket

I found out about two years ago that I was pronouncing it wrong the whole time! (correct: caynay corso)

"caynay" corsos? That's a bit odd, haha. I've probably been pronouncing them wrong this whole time, too, as well as every dog trainer and Corso owner I've talked to!

there seem to ba a few different ways
    I just found this
    Cane Corso (pronounced Cawnie Corso)
    and this:
    Cane Corso (pronounced Kah-Neh Kor-Soh)

    CANE CORSO
    Pronounced
    CAH-nay COR-so
    9http://www.yourpurebredpuppy.com/dog...anecorsos.html)

Pronounced Carn-ay Corso (Cane being Italian for 'dog' and Corso derived from the Latin Cohors meaning protector), the breed's name literally means 'guardian' or 'protector dog'. Historically, this term perhaps initially described a type of dog rather than a specific breed.

Cane (pronounced 'Connie') - which means dog.
Corso - derived from the latin word 'cohors', which means to guard or protect.

That is way too confusing. I'm going to stick with how it looks.
