I really love those close-ups ! GREAT photos -- they look like they are having so much fun. You have way more snow than I do now -- I'm in Minnesota and we have had the warmest winter on record in many many years (I am so NOT complaining) so we have very little snow left. So all the snow you have plus the dogs made for some great photos!

Your dogs are so beautiful. They always look like they are enjoying themselves in all that snow.

Are malamutes easy to raise? I've been debating to get a Malamute someday when I move out to the country.

Depends. You are used to a husky, so you have some idea what a Malamute would be like. They share the same stubborn, hard to train, how do I get out of here traits! Malamutes can be escape artists and need secure fencing. They tend to be lousy off leash. Recall is not their strong point. They also tend to be dog aggressive, especially to the same sex. A bored Malamute is nothing but trouble! They don't need quite as much exercise as a Husky, but they do need to keep their brains and bodies occupied or they will amuse themselves! They generally aren't good with smaller animals, cats, or livestock.

They are also snuggly, sweet and quite people orientated. Heyoka loves to just hang out with us. He likes kids, although he's too big for wee ones. He knocks them over! I've never met a malamute who had any idea how big they were! Heyoka thinks he is a lap dog!

I love them, but like any breed, they aren't for everyone!
