It's actually spelled Dachshund (pronounced Dox-hund or Dax-hund)...

I love them all, I've only owned smooth Doxies but my favourite as far as appearance goes has to be the longhaired ones. I'd love to have a longhaired (blk/tan dapple or a Choc./tan dapple) female one day. Personality wise though, I'd have to say the Wire is my favourite. I do like smooths aswell (Esp. tri colour piebalds), but they don't involve any grooming and I love to groom dogs....

I'm not a fan of the wirehaired, but I love both long and smooth. My RB Buttons was a smooth Black & Tan. I think my favorite color is a White & Red Piebald smooth.
