Does your dog have a shock collar?

No, I agree that their are better ways to train your dog.
I'm not exactly for them, but I don't think people are evil or cruel for using them. My dad often kids with me and says he's going to buy Ethan one since Ethan has a barking issue when he goes outside. But I know he's kidding.
In short, our dogs don't have one now, nor will they ever.

Im not for them.. but in some cases there are people who need them as a last resort.
i think i would rather the dog have a shock collar then being taken the pound.

I don't like them at all, dogs can be trained in a civilised manner as they are intelligent creatures that do not need a electric current passing through them to tell them to behave.

However, a while ago i saw a programme about dogs who believed they were dominant and could turn nasty towards humans, and they used shock collars on them. Before watching it, i was very skeptical about whether even a dangerous dog should be put through that. But actually, it was very interesting, after a while, most of the dogs calmed down and became better family pets.

Maybe they aren't so bad... but definitely way down the list in methods of training

They work for some dogs but not for others. I used one on my dog, she hated it and rebelled. My neibor used one and her dog behaved very well. My other neibor used a invisible fence and now the dog tries to attack people on the street because he connected the people with the shocks when he was just comeing to say hi. Some dogs react differently to the shock collars, sort of like some react differently to choke chains.

I voted the wrong one. There should be a no option. I have considered tone training long range collars for Niño but he ran through scat mats several times at a friend's house, so I don't think it would really effect him

Autumn has one for when my stepdad gets grumpy about her siren bark. It doesn't hurt bad, I've been shocked by it, but I don't like the things that stick into the neck. It has to be uncomfortable for those things to be poking your neck, it has to be tight to work properly. I've been working with her and my stepdad though and she's getting better. He gets into this angry jealous rage because she only barks at men and he's the only man in the house.

A friend of mine put up the shock fencing and we both held the collar to the fence and it ave me a good shock.....i threw the colar it scared me so much not in a million years could i do that

I didn't check one, as my answer is a simple no, as it wasn't needed. He wasn't fenced in & he never left the yard, so there was never a reason to get one. However I've seen them on dogs before & all was well.

i wouldn't put one on my dogs. you can contain your dogs in other ways than a shock collar.
