I'd also suggest a betta. In fact I'd kinda like to get another myself, my last one passed away a year or so ago (they tend to have a 1-3 year lifespan depending on age when you get them). I felt it was overall pretty easy to care for and a beautiful pet, they can easily make it through weekends when you are away.
you guys should get one from luvgold or the other way around I can't remember her name fully, but she needs help with getting rid of some bettas and her a GORGOUS!!

Folks - check the date before you reply to a thread like this! This thread is over a year old, so she's probably has gotten either rock or fish a long time ago!

LOL, Actually I did get a betta. His name is Drew and I kept him at home. I couldn't bare the thought of him being at the office all weekend alone!
    My dad agreed.
I've had Drew for over a year and he seems happy and healthy.

I would sujest a fire bellt toad,
they are easy to take care of
they have a long lie span
only need to eat about twice a week
one frog can live quite happy on a 5 gallon tank
and if you are lucky to get a male he will chirp for you.
last but not least they are just cool

If you would like more info on them and how to set up a tank you can PM me and i would be more then happy to help you and show you a pic of my set up.
