My favorite by far are Great Danes and Pit bulls -- odd combination I know, but the best dogs I ever had were those two breeds. I have to say I prefer Great Danes over Pit Bulls just because they have been easier for me to train. Both are extremely loyal and loving and both require a lot of training due to their size and strength.
