This would have been so easy for anyone to miss, much less someone who has......how many do you have these days?

We're up to 24 - 25 (lost count) and you're so correct, it's hard to notice things when you have so many. How do you know which one deposited and didn't in the litter box? Which one is going outside the box, etc. Spike was named that for a reason he's an ornery, fiesty guy. He just seemed subdued that day and I'm glad I'm a worrier.
