Unfortunately, she does have a tendency to slip on the tiled kitchen floor. So we just put down a trail of rubber-backed mats so she can walk though the kitchen to go outside, etc. She positively REFUSES to let us trim her nails. I've tried and tried. I even had Jen Luckenbach (who's a professional dog groomer) stop by and trim her nails. Jen got the teensiest piece of nail off ONE paw, and then couldn't do anything else.Originally Posted by shais_mom
I know it stems from when she was a puppy. I took her like a good owner to have her nails trimmed. It never occured to me til much later it was something I could do myself, anyway, EVERY time I took her the groomer they clipped her quick at least once on each paw (and I tried SEVERAL groomers). She'd come home with at least 6 bloody nails. Even the vet tried and cut her quick several times. Now she flat-out fights anyone who tries to trim those monster nails.
