Sadly, I have to say yes also. My last three cats were all able to go outside during the day and then come into the house at 5 PM or so.

I have lived in my home for 25 years and the area has changed. We have many neighbors now who have never "heard" you are supposed to neuter or spay your cats. And they think roaming the neighborhood is just normal. Too many sad stories.

Rascal is now absolutely an indoor cat. He wasn't happy about it at first - but I discussed it with him at great length (while we were at the vets taking care of his third set of abscesses).

The vet used to say "Well, Rascal, what is it today?" And I used to say "how much is it today?"

I know he misses going out of doors, but he has never looked better and no more fleas!
