I think the whole thing about, males being more goofy and cuddly just has to do with the breed and/ or your own dogs personality. imo

As Kay said, with my dogs, I see the exact opposite. Boo boo (male) would much rather you pet him once a day, and let him do his own thing. Where as Maggie and Autumn follow you everywhere, and beg to be pet and played with. I prefer females.
