lv4dogs: Doesn't that make a mess on your carpet and their beds? If I were to do that and the smell stayed on the carpet or his bed he'd eat the bed when he was done!

Actually even I was surprised, it makes very little mess, and what mess it does make they clean it right up. No smells & no stains.
I remember years & years ago my dad (who was a butcher when we were young) came home with a big bone for Nanook, gave it to him in the kitchen but as soon as we turned our backs he was in the dinning room eating it, a very meaty raw bloody bone on very light green carpet. I thought my dad was going to kill me, but Nanook licked the carpet clean & you couldn't see or smell anything.

Of course some meats, especially venison is VERY bloody, they have to eat that kind of meat in the kitchen, outside or in Kaiges case he eats messy items in his crate.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.

We tried that food and it was too expensive for the quality that is not what they advertise. Niņo gets usually Bil-Jac and my mom refuses to think that quality of food has anything to do with quality of the dog's life so she tends to try and buy crap. He has lived on Iams minichunk for a long time and still gets some mixed

Claire and Rebel eat kibble food, those raw foods look like they're really good for the dogs, I keep telling myself I'll look into it but I'm still a bit scared of it, don't want to give them any bad stuff. lol

For X-mas I got a book on home-cooking your dogs' food. This, I believe, is better than kibble but still not as good as raw. Some day they'll switch to raw, but only after I'm done with my research! I'll take some pictures of their dinner tonight... actually, it's about dinner time now so I need to go cook it.

Lv4dogs, that dinner looks very appetizing! However, I'd steam clean the carpets weekly because E. Coli could very well be lurking underneath that thick carpeting. One can never be too careful Otherwise, you can lay a sheet of newspaper on the carpet and let the dogs go wild.

Of course I forgot to take a picture I'll try to remember in the morning, they'll be getting raw chicken and veggies.

Ya know I can't belive I have never thought about that, well as far as carpet goes anyway. I feel so dirty now.
When I prepare it I think about and clean up the counter and when I feed them in the kitchen I think about it and clean the floor. But I haven't thought about that on the carpet. Shame on me. I do steam about once a month or so just to keep it clean with all the critters & traffic I have on my carpets. And granted they only eat on the carpet maybe once a week or once every other week. But still, looks like I'll be steaming more often. Thanks for pointing that out to me.

Wouldn't the bacteria go right through the newspaper though? Its so porus. I think an old vinyl tablecloth or something would be better than paper.

Yeah, I feed Finn in the great outdoors. I used to feed him in his crate, but, since his crate has been put up for awhile, he eats outside...
