Sounds to me like you needed to have gloves on! It's very important when you're out in the cold like that to not leave any skin exposed . . . especially skin that is so far away from your core.

Young lady, with no gloves on and in 25 degree weather, it sounds alot like a touch of frostbite. I've done that a lot and when I would come back in the house, my fingers would start to come back to normal. Just remember to wear a pair of gloves the next time you shovel.
Thanks...perfectly normal today![]()
I wasn't out very longbut I've been reading a bit about frostbite since then...scary stuff!! It seems that it was just an early sign of it or something...but everything I read says it is very painful, and my hand didn't hurt at all? I did put them in the hot tub (and thats what it says to do on some of the sites) so that was a good thing. My hands were very numb and tingly, so wierd, I've never experienced that before! I will definately wear gloves next time, even if I'm only going to be out a couple of minutes!
