Aww, the memories! And yes, we played outside, all day, everyday. Thanks for sharing.

I hear that. Have we become a country of risk-averse wimps, or what?

My mom used to tell me stories of when she was little and she always played outside with her sisters (my aunts). She said Yollie (2nd oldest) used to make mud pies and she would decorate it with rocks then eat it up! Now, most kids hardly go outside. They stay inside all day playing there gameing system. That's why about what 50% of kids are overweight? (I don't know the exact number. I'll research it right now)

The list must not have been from a farm kid . It misses running barefoot all summer though cow pies and sticker bushes. Also running out to the horse and just jumping on (no protective gear and OMG no shoes or bridles just (if thought about) a piece of rope around the neck to steer by.
Climbed to the tip top of trees. Swimming in the creek .

in second grade i was...chatty... and was disciplined by the teacher for not doing as i was told, being quiet after i'd finished some work. i recieved a very light tap on the back of my calves with a yard stick, and even worse, a note to take to home to my parents, who had to sign it. my moms' reaction was strong, my fathers' was much bigger. i survived to tell the story. but i'm still chatty
