My baby girl is finally home and I couldn't be happier. She doesn't look good. The vet closes at 8pm and by 7:15 I had not received a phone call so I marched on down there. Here's the scoop.

Her numbers were down but not significantly. She has been on IV fluids to flush out the kidneys and today, because she had not had a BM, she had a kitty enema which worked like a charm. The prognosis is not good....he gives her 2 months at the most. I asked about the stones and he said there really is nothing we can do at this point. I then asked if the stones will eventually cause her pain and he said yes and at that point I should consider putting her to sleep.

I have to give her sub-q fluids (100 CC twice a day) and I was shown how to do it. I had no trouble putting in the needle and she was still for it so I hope that continues. I just have to figure out where I'm going to hang the bag. She is also on 2 other medications, one for the kidneys and one for the infection in her mouth which is getting better.

Now, here's what I'm worried about. She can hardly walk and her hind end is really wobbly and I'm hoping it's because she has been in a cage and not walking around since Tuesday. Right now, she has stumbled into the litterbox had a big pee, then laid down in the LB. After a few minutes, she hopped out took a few steps, then fell down.

Question: how often should I change the needle for the fluids????

For now, she will be spoiled everyday and showered with kisses. Please continue your prayers and good thoughts. Thank you.
