I'm heading out today to buy a temporary (I hope) litter box for the downstairs. It looks like something we're doing is starting to work, one of the messes this morning was almost like normal poo. Hooray! Funny that I get excited over poo, isn't it?![]()

We have all had this same excitement one time or other.Hooray! Funny that I get excited over poo, isn't it?![]()

My vet would tell you a box on each level!!! Sandra
Nine is Fine!!
Well, we put the box downstairs...and guess what, he still pooped in front of the tv! He knows the box is there, we showed him where it is (close to where he usually messes), but it still makes no difference. I just don't know what else to do now. I guess I'll be calling the vet tomorrow to get more medication, he won't eat the plain yogurt anymore and the Kaeopectate doesn't seem to be doing any good either. I really just hope we can find the cause of this so he can get better already...poor guy.![]()
His behavior makes me think that he is associating the box with the pain of diarrhea.![]()
.
I think so too. My only other thought is that maybe this behavior is stress-related? Stewie never does it when we're around- the only times we ever find the poo is in the morning (after we've been asleep for 6-8 hours and not paying attention to him) or when we get home from work in the evening we also usually find another mess. Could this be a separation anxiety type of thing? Is stress-related diarrhea even possible??
Well, in any case I'll be calling the vet again tomorrow... she did say she had a few other medications we could try. Maybe we should add kitty prozac into the mix...He seems like a very happy, healthy cat besides for these accidents we have daily. Like I said, my main concern is that we get him better.
