yep happens here with my great pyr

My pyr is multi colored, not all white...he is sooo beautiful with big tan/orange badger spots on his body with freckles too and a beautiful mask including black around the eyes...for 7 yrs now, my groomer continues to list him as a grt pyr/st.bernard mix there is nothing st.ber in him and he has the double dew claws as well...my vet cracks up, says it's just really rare to see the mask in the breed, but he is a pyr all the way

Is there a picture of your Pyr online somewhere? I'd love to see. Thanks!

The funniest breed misID I've ever read about was in the newsgroups (r.p.d.) years ago. Someone mentioned that a little girl saw a Harlequin dane and excitedly told her mom, "Look, a cow!"

My dog Koosty is part pit, and who knows what else. Pit is the only part I know for sure. Nobody ever believes he has pit in him, though, because he's just a little taller than a cocker and doesn't have a wide mouth. Doesn't bother me too much, though, because it usually means that those people will actually give him a chance instead of just writing him off as a vicious pit.

The biggest problem I've had is with my family breeding AKC beagles. If they aren't tri-colored, then nobody believes they are purebred beagles, or beagles at all. That one really, really aggravated me as a kid, and still sort of bothers me now.
