that depends on who you ask.

considering that you can register an AST as an APBT(like said above), i dont see how they are seperate breeds.

IMO they are the same breed just different types..one bred for performance and one bred for show.

just like with ESS, irish setters, labs, etc....working breeds.....within most working breeds there is a show type and a working type...they have similar characteristics but dont really look the same...
