This thread is pretty old, but I wanted to clear up some confusion
American Staffordshire Terriers and American Pitbull Terriers are the same thing. Staffordshire Bull Terriers *are* a different breed, they're smaller and such.

IMO they are the same breed just different types..one bred for performance and one bred for show.
just like with ESS, irish setters, labs, etc....working breeds.....within most working breeds there is a show type and a working type...they have similar characteristics but dont really look the same...
