Really? That's weird! Why would they be illegal? As far as I know they're illegal in the states now. We USED to sell them at my petco but as of 2005 they're supposedly illegal? At least that's what I've been told

Aparently they are getting to be a rarity in the wild. Our local pet store gave theirs away in the beginning of the year, since they couldn't sell them. Unfortunately I missed this so I don't have one. I've wanted one for a while too. I've only got my roaches. I believe somebody on PT has one. You could do a search.

I never know you could keep millipedes as pets.Well you learn something new everday.
There was a blanket ban put on millipedes and mantids in the United States March of this year...but that doesn't mean you can't get them. I think the law makes it illegal to sell them, not own them, but I'm not positive. I was really sad because I love mantids, and millipedes are fascinating too. They're great pets! Easy keepers, friendly, and just neat! If you're interested in them, the folks at www.arachnoboards.com can probably hook you up.![]()
Thank you Wolf_Q!
luckies4me has or used to have one.
I too have always wanted one. And I think Cathy Bogart is right, I also believe you can own them you just can't sell them anymore.
Soar high & free my sweet fur angels. I love you Nanook & Raustyk... forever & ever.
Hmm, I didn't realize they were illegal to sell. Well, thanks for the info. Its good to know there are millipede lovers out there.
