Have you ever rescued from a shelter, pound, or rescue group?

of course most of us here have and do.

I don't like to use the word "rescue". She was never in danger of being put to sleep. Her foster mom would have kept her until her last breath. She was never in peril. I didn't rescue her- I adopted her I always put emphasis on "adopt" when people ask me that question.

There's a Toller in the pound at the moment that we're going to visit tonight and possibly adopt him.
