They discovered that she has a SEVERE heart murmur. The vet wanted to euthanize her right then and there ...

You have got to be kidding! Euthanize her? What kind of vet is that? My Mandy has a servere heart murmur (a 5-6 on a scale of 1-6) She is still with us at 4 1/2 years old. We were told she might not live a year by one specialist and pray for 3 years by OSU.
I will keep Lily and your sister in my thoughts and prayers.

My sister just picked her up, and UC Davis said she should be euthanized, it will only get worse for Lily.

Apparently, she has had bad breathing problems, which Mel just assumed was the normal Bulldog heaviness of breath at first. They did x-rays and she has a hole in her heart, and a very low red blood cell count, and she has been losing weight. It's definitely congenital... so, not only did her breeder sell her knowing about the murmur, they also bred unhealthy dogs. I don't know what to say or do. I'm going over to see her tomorrow.
