Congratulations. Be sure to share your pictures

I agree; she doesn't look Shiba at all. Her expressive eyes scream Pit Bull, Chinese Shar-Pei, and GSD. That's an odd combo and I'm probably off on a breed or two, but I doubt she's more than a 1/4 Shiba

even poorly bred dogs still resemble their breed is some way shape or form, she doesnt look like a shiba at all to me, her ears are too big and her head is too square and her coat seems a bit shorter

Dontcha think? Or maybe not GSD...Perhaps Malinois?
Edited to add: I doubt she's Shiba or related to any of the Japanese breeds because she displays the characteristic "meat muzzle" that you can see in Peis. Her expressive eyes are very unique and truly scream Pittie to me. Or maybe I'm the only weirdo who sees this...LOL.

She's really adorable! I do hope you're able to adopt her... if she IS a Shiba, you'll have 2 bossy little nordic pups on your hands lucky! I actually do think she looks like a Shiba, perhaps mixed with something. Her size is dead-on for a Shiba... she looks to be only about 16" at the whither. She does not look like a show quality Shiba, but she's adorable and reminds me a lot of my friends 2 Shiba's.

hehe, well, whatever she is, my whole family seems definitely interested in her. the only person who needs to be convinced is my dad. (It took 16 years to persuade him to get our first dog, Zero). Although we all now know how much joy Zero has brought to our lives..I am not kidding...joy! Zero always cheers us up, even when we are at our lowest points. I love pitts and gsd's, but don't know much about shar pei's. she looks cute though And so far my dad has said "maybe" which usually means probably.

Basically, we wanted a companion and friend for zero for when my mother is at work. See, someone is always in my house at all times, whether it is my dad or grandmother. Only problem is that Zero can't get as much exercise as he needs in the yard by himself (we have a decent sized back yard with high fence). This is because my father has lung cancer which has sapped all his strength...he is not strong enough to walk Zero and does not want to use the prong collar, and my grandmother is a couple years away from 90, and also has a very bad back problem.

So basically my dad will try to play fetch with zero in the backyard but sometimes this is even tiring for him as his energy levels are minimal at best. so zero will end up just sitting on the deck soaking up the rays until my mom gets home from work to "work the beast" my mom walks Zero at least 4 times a day, but we think he would do well with a friend.

oh and I borrowed my girlfriend's mom's digital camera for the weekend, so I will be uploading some pictures of Zero. Already have taken 20 or so

If we do indeed end up adopting successfully, I have to thank all of you at PT, and people on dogster.com, because I have seen so many success stories of dogs who have been adopted...I started to feel so bad about all the dogs that have to spend their lives in shelters

I hope you get to adopt her

the only reason i said that i didnt think she was a shiba inu is because i hate for people to be expecting a breed of dog with that breed temperment and then get a dog that isnt that breed and the temperment is nothing they expected

    she is a beautiful dog

You picked out two stubborn breeds. lol
Make sure the Shibu is dog friendly and good natured.
She looks adorable and good for you for adopting her.

I am sorry to hear about your father.
    Looking forward to seeing pics.
