I think mine is Chester although AND because he makes SURE the girls are taken care of first. He will stand and wait until they have their food, not touching his until they all are happily eating. He comes in and does a head count on them like a mother hen several times a day, breaks up the disagreements they have and watches over HIS treats as the girls eats their own, then his. Satisfied they are happy, he will then go take another nap. He is SUCH a Gentleman!

As I read this Edwina is whacking Eddie around....(I don't think he really minds... ) She is smaller, older, and less lethal (no front claws.) No matter....when she gives Eddie "the look"...he obeys!

Storm is the alpha cat around here now but I think that Pearl just might become the new alpha when she gets older because right now she always gets her way and all of her brothers adore her. LOL

It's definitely Mango. The girls give in to whatever he says. He often takes their sleeping spot just because he can but mostly he's a benevolent dictator. If there's a foster cat in the house and he says the cat is OK then the girls grudgingly leave it alone. They worry about their place in the pecking order being disturbed but Mango is secure. Mango likes to play with foster kittens - kind of a surrogate daddy - and it's the cutest thing to watch. He really is a sweet guy.

Maxie is the alpha BEING in my family. He orders everybody around (pets AND humans). I just wished he'd pay the bills!

I don't think it's a question of age, as Peggy seemed to be ready for the alpha role almost right from the start, and Dino seems to have accepted it.

While Mollie Rose, my 12 year old, is the oldest in my house, she isn't the alpha cat. All the cats respect her, but Maya Linn in the alpha female. And who else but MooShoo (the only male in the house) is the alpha male.

Rest In Peace Casey (Bubba Dude) Your paw print will remain on my heart forever. 12/02
Mollie Rose, you were there for me through good times and in bad, from the beginning.Your passing will leave a hole in my heart. We will be together "One Fine Day". 1994-2009
MooShoo, you left me too soon.I wasn't ready.Know that you were my soulmate and have left me broken hearted.I loved you like no other. 1999 - 2010See you again "ONE FINE DAY"
Maya Linn, my heart is broken. The day your beautiful blue eyes went blind was the worst day of my life.I only wish I could've done something.I'll miss your "premium" purr and our little "conversations". 1997-2013 See you again "ONE FINE DAY"

I didn't know that there can be alpha males AND females at the same time. That's interesting!
