My beagles are not that energetic. I take my hounds for two walks a day in the morning and in the evening. We have a wide open 15 acre field and we go out there for about 20-30 min they run and sniff and play fight together. That pretty much takes care of thier energy for the day The rest of the day they spend sleeping in the sun or on the bed under the blankets or at my feet or on my lap or ......

They are not barkers, about the only time you hear a beagle bark is if its on the trail of something. Well Copper will bark if Im late with his supper but other then that they are a pretty quiet dog. When I first got Hannah I couldn't wait to hear her bark, I wanted to hear that beagle bark so bad. I had to wait 8 days, it wasn't untill she seen her first chipmunk and tracked it up a tree that she started barking It was so cute.

Umm what else could I tell ya about the beagle ..

*Health Problems: Some lines can be prone to heart disease, epilepsy, eye and back problems. Also prone to chondroplasia, aka dwarfism (warped front legs, like a Basset's).

*Life Expectancy: About 12-15 years.

*Grooming: The Beagle's smooth short-haired coat is easy to look after. Brush with a firm bristle brush, and bathe with mild soap only when necessary. Dry shampoo occasionally. Be sure to check the ears carefully for signs of infection and keep the nails trimmed. This breed is an average shedder.

I can't wait till you get your beagle, you'll have to take lots and lots of pictures
