My friend had a beagle...there VERY terittorial (sorry can't spell..) and there noses are very good so they might take off after a smell. They are loving and loyal, affectionate, clean,tranquil and pleasing :] and have quite the voice lol! Goodluck with your new dog! sure you'll have lots of fun together :]
