We take our freedom for granted - yet we owe a debt of gratitude to so many that we are free.
Prayers for all of our soldiers who are away from their families - keep them safe - and after their mission is done allow them to return home.

My mom and dad were married Sept. 3, 1917. This picture was taken the next year. My dad, Clay, was Chief Mechanic in the Field Artillery and is on the right in the picture which was taken in "Hocher Germany, 15 Kilos from Coblenz".

Out of curiosity....isn't it a Stat holiday in the States? It is for Canadians and when I checked on my work email, there were some messages from some vendors from the US.

Slick, schools are closed, banks are closed and post offices are closed.
I am not sure about other governmental agencies - but the stock market is open.
It is not a national holiday for everyone.................so ENJOY YOUR DAY OFF!

Not all schools are closed. I'm at work.
Then again, around here, Law Schools and Universities close rarely.
I think the State of MI offices are closed though. Anyone with the day off, enjoy it!
