Sorry to hear this. Thoughts and prayers going out for Kelly.

Kelly just called me - she signed herself out AMA and just got home. She feels a lot better. She is going to eat dinner and call me later.
Yup Slick - that's the beauty of HIPPA - unable to give out any information to people.

Oh Staci, thanks for the post. I called the hospital at around Noon and they told me that she was having some tests done and didn't know when she would be back in her room so was planning to call right about now, but saw your post. I'm going to email you.
What's AMA??![]()
Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, champagne in one hand and strawberries in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and screaming WOO HOO - What a Ride!

I will certainly say a prayer for Kelly.
I must reiterate here - my MISTAKE-Originally Posted by shais_mom
Kelly did NOT sign herself out AMA. Her dr wrote her discharge orders at 8am this morning and she was to be released if (1) she had not had any pain meds (she hadn't) if (2) she finished her REMICAID (she did) (3) and if she ate lunch without pain or getting sick (she did that too). She finished her remicaid and lunch around 1ish and her nurse just kept putting her off - saying she had other things to do. (she apparently had just one other patient) when Kelly's mom got there she went to ask if Kelly could be discharged and the nurse bit her mom's head off saying she was too busy and was nasty. So Kelly slipped her IV out and taped the cotton over it and off they went which if the dr. wrote discharge instructions and the nurse was being a b**** is NOT signing self out AMA.
She is tired but doing ok otherwise and is sorry we all worried about her. **silly girl** we LOVE her![]()

ThosThis whole situation just sucks for her. Kelly is such an angel, she doesn't deserve this constant crap. It's so unfair. I hope you find a new doc, Kelly. Speaking for everyone, it breaks our hearts to see you suffer. And I can't believe the nurses are so nasty. Hugs and prayers that you're feeling better now.
I've been Boooo'd!
Hoping Kelly is better now- and that she'll be able to find better help.
Oh poor Kelly!I hope she'll feel a lot better soon, and stay that way!
Sending hugs and good thoughts.

I've signed myself out of the hospital AMA....twice. Doctors will always go the conservative route....and ....well anyway.
Slick....not giving out patient information is ....for good or bad.... the law in the US. I had a an employee who had a question about a medical claim for his 13 year old son. We had to get the written permission of the son to pursue the question. Goofy...but the law....
Oh my gosh! How out of the loop am I?!I continue to hope and pray that someone will be able to help Kelly to feel better. She has already been through so much. I can only imagine how frustrating it would be to do everything right, but still suffer from the pain of this disease. It wears you out physically as well as emotionally.
We all love you, Kell!
**hugs**
