O, ok. lol, I havent been around chow a lot, my aunt and uncle have one, but he is ALWAYS tied up and he is very well socialized, so he isnt the nicest dog.

    I definetly say Chow/Shiba Inu.

    Here's a Shiba:

And here's a Shiba/Chow mix. He's not as cute as Autumn, but he looks similar.

Here's a link I just found to a page of an Akita/Chow mix, since someone suggested Akita.

That looks a lot like her too! She is built a lot more like the Akita/Chow. She isnt so rugged looking like the Shiba/Chow is, but that could be just the expression that one dog has too. .. hmmm..... maybe she's a Akita/Chow/ shiba

I have 2 friends that have Akita/Chow mixes & they both look exactly like her. One has a slightly darker muzzle but otherwise they look exactly alike.

    Here's a Chow/Cattle Dog:

Buddy tends to trot a lot and he's a Cattle Dog/Pit.

Considering the area you live in, I doubt it's an ACD mix -- unless ACDs are in fact common where you are? Over in this part of MN they are not. And Shibas are even more rare than ACDs here, so that's out again.

I think it's really fun to try and guess what breeds your mix is out of, but when it comes down to them looking like a "rare" (for your area) breed, the likelihood of them being mixed with that breed is slim. I can see the chow in her, definitely, and probably some Shepherd or Lab.

The Shiba/chow does look a lot like her, but I agree, isnt even CLOSE to looking as adorable as autumn Thanks for posting the pictures! I have always wanted a Shiba or Shiba cross, and now I've got one! Thanks sarah!

Yeah, maybe she is a mix of all three! It took us a while to figure out what Mandy is, and we don't know for sure since we never saw her mom or dad, but I think we're correct. However, sometimes I'll see a totally different breed than what she is (she's a White GSD/Am. Staff) and I'll think it looks EXACTLY like her. It's fun trying to figure out what your doggie is. But with Mandy's looks and temperment the GSD/Am.Staff guess seems pretty accurate.

Mandy does look a lot like a white GSD. Mandy, Nova, and Luka are gorgeaus dogs btw. I love trying to figure out dogs breeds too. I dont have any clues to Autumns background, because she was pretty much a stray, but she has a purple tounge.

-edit- Thanks so much for helping me out Sarah!
