Yeah, I am the same way. When I got Nova I was so excited that she had the brown nose. And then Luka's totally blends in with her coat, it's gorgeous. It's against breed standard but it happens whenever there are both chocolate and yellow puppies in a litter, or if a chocolate dog is bred to a yellow who has all yellow puppies, they will all have chocolate pigmentation like that.Originally Posted by Orangutango
I took them outside to play after I posted the pictures (or maybe it was before ... I can't remember) and let them run around. They were outside running for 10-15 minutes but that didn't do the trick. I finally just said "that's it!" and I put Luka in the crate and got Mandy & Nova in my bed and went to sleep. I'm going to bring up the other crate today so that Nova will sleep in it, and Mandy will sleep on her bed on the floor.
I took Luka up to work today to give her a bath. She smelled AWFUL, and now my room smells like work (which smells like poo, blood, urine, etc. all mixed together ... mmmm!!!) She smells great now, and after we finished talking to friends at work we went to PETsMART. I bought a ton of flavored Nylabones, Greenies, P-nutz, etc. to help Mandy settle down. She's got mild anxiety so bringing a new dog into the house isn't exactly easy on her. They're so expensive, and I gave her one right after I got home. It took her about two minutes to finish the P-Nutz that I had to work probably 15 minutes to pay for ... lol
Luka and Mandy haven't been introduced yet, and we decided it'd be best to wait a few more days until they are used to each other's scent and once Luka gets settled in -- although she's already pretty darn comfy here.
I'm taking both Nova and Luka out on Sunday to a friend of a friend's house who has 850 acres. It's the same place I took Nova and her boyfriend Keyser, which I posted pictures of last weekend. There will be more dogs this time, 5 in total, so I should get some good picturesAnd this time I'll put my camera in the right mode ... haha
I just wanted to share something funny that Pam (her foster mom) told me. She likes to jump, a LOT. She has a window in her kitchen right above her sink that is very high, and I was told that Luka will go outside and if there is someone at the sink she will jump up to the window and look in, but not put her paws up or anything. She apparently does this 20-30 times, and each time she has a funny look on her face. She said it reminds her of a cartoon![]()
Thanks for all the comments!

I seem to be attracted to reddish coloured dogs with pigment that blends with their coat, that's what had originally attracted me to Tollers. lol I think I've finally decided on my favourite Labrador coat colour....
