I think in a lot of these cases, people start out with good intentions, and things just get out of hand.

I totally agree with you. SOME people start out with the very best of intentions only to find themselves getting in over their head. It's a sad situation and to be quite honest, I don't think this woman is sick. I think she just didn't know when to say "enough". I feel bad for the animals.
