    She's lovely. Good luck!

I wouldn't worry too much about finding a name that sounds the same. I just changed a dog's name from Bandit to Deuce. Don't sound anything alike. He answers just fine to Deuce. I just treated him like I would a puppy who was learning his name---I called him Deuce 1000 times a day. Every time I talked to him I threw his new name in as much as possible.

Really? I had always heard to stick with the name. I never really understood why because it's just like have to names for another command. They think when you say their name that you want their attention, so it's really like a command in a way. I have two commands for some tricks and my dogs have always gotten it, so I never really understood why you shouldn't change a name.

Thanks! I'll keep that in mind -- I actually have a .doc file of dog names I like

Oh you lucky duck!! That's the reason why I don't volunteer at shelters or look for Aussies on sites like petfinder because I KNOW I'll see one and want it really bad but not be able to get it!!

As for names similar to Lulu (ugh I don't like that name, either) What about Lyla?? or Lilah (same pronounciation different spellings)? But yeah you don't HAVE to keep her name the same or similar. I'm sure Jamie's gone through about three name changes in her life.. her previous owner had her named Arizona... and Charlie's breeder had him named Batman!

I hope it all goes well, I'm sure it will. She is absolutely beautiful! And I agree that the name doesn't have to sound the same. My friend got a dog from their neighbor that was two years old, and it was named Sissy, but my friend wanted to name her Chicken, and within a week she was answering to Chicken.
But if you are still going for a name that is close to Lulu...Lola sounds similar... Just a suggestion!
    Good luck!

Thanks guys! I'll probably go with something totally different than Lulu, but by all means keep helping me! I looove thinking of names, for whatever reason.

Jessica, I volunteer so much and I fall in love with every animal, but sometimes one just clicks, you know? Like they're meant to be yours. There was a Chessie that we almost got instead of Nova but Mandy didn't like him (since then we've found out she doesn't like males ). Lulu is the only other dog that I've "clicked" with. And I still get to see Luke, the Chessie, because his owners take him to the vet I work at. I still hug him and kiss him a lot, and think about stealing him hahahahaha.
