Oh how precious are you, Miss Smiles!

I can't imagine how anyone could have abandoned you and your brother I'm just so grateful they had the good sense to make sure you were left in caring hands until your Mommy could come to your rescue

Yes, you are "all smiles" in your lovely Cat of the Day photo I've never seen a kitty with such a distinctive grin! And no doubt that beautiful smile has grown ever wider since you found your way to your loving home...but not as big as the smiles your proud parents must wear each and every day!

Congratulations to you beautiful Smiles, our EXTRA SPECIAL Saturday CAt of the Day! How deserving you are of that lofty title, sweetheart! Enjoy your well earned day celeb sweetheart and party hearty!

Smiles in the face of adversity

Like all of you, the first thing that I did when I opened up today's Cat of the Day and saw Smiles was smile. As they say, it is good to smile in the face of adversity, and Smiles has certainly done that.

Smiles is a grand and beautiful cat, obviously loved by her human devotees, but I must take exception to one thing that was said about her. While no one knows everything (as hard as it must be to believe, not even me) and certainly I have not seen the event for myself, I am none-the-less certain that Smiles does not fetch like a dog. Smiles fetches like a cat, in a most graceful and beautiful way - even to daintily picking up the object in her Paws first.

Should Smiles carettakers ever grow weary of her company (Hey! put down those stones! Don't throw them at me!) then I invite them to put her on a plane headed north. We will pick her up at Ted Stevens International Airport, drive her out here to the valley and then she can sit here in this office with The Black Cat and me and watch tropical fish of various size and color swim about in their many aquariums.

I am certain she would be most pleased. So put her on that plane. Send her north.

OUCH! You have mighty big stones in Vermont and you hurl them hard! You must have pitched for the Boston Red Sox!

I have been out walking. I'm afraid to look at my shoes, because I am picking up the distinct odor of dog poop. Someone ought to teach them how to use litter boxes, like a cat.

Now I will do what needs to be done and then go drink a Pepsi.

    Howdy, there neighbour!

Smiles, first of all congratulations for being the Cat of the Day! Such an honor for such a lovely lady.

And secondly, we are neighbours! Camp Vermont (South Hero) is only about 20 miles away from you. Maybe my Meowmie knows your Meowmie! Maybe not.

My brother, Graemer, was Cat of the Day, but my Meowmie has never sent my name in. I think she loves me but just hasn't taken the time to nominate me. My brother is at Rainbow Bridge, with his buddy cat Gabe. Your Meowmie must love you very, very much.

Anwyway, you are quite a lucky girl to have found your family and I hope you have many, many good years living in Burlington!

    Ever so fondly,
    Miley

Yay! It's so nice to see a Vermont kitty as Cat of the Day today!
Smiles you are just beautiful and very deserving of the honor of being today's Cat of the Day!
Like Sasvermont, I live not far from Burlington and would love it if your owner joined Pet Talk so we could get to know you better.
I know where the shelter is that you came from and I adopted my parakeet and gerbils from the same PetSmart that you were adopted at!

Frostfrog, don't even think of taking a kitty as beautiful as Smiles out of Vermont. There are plenty of people right here in Vermont who would snatch her up first if given the chance to adopt her.
    RIP sweet Samantha

    Smiles

Aww what a cute smile!!! She needs to be in the GOT MILK commercial she would not have to have the fake milk in hers. I love grey tuxedo cats I have lots at my house. Thanks for sharing your girl.

What a darling. She could be called "cute" because of the smile, but her personality seems to transcend "cute." She is beautiful. I am so glad her smile brightens your life. Isn't nature wonderful, to have given us so many different beautiful markings to adore on our beautiful cats?

Sweet Smiles, you have the most unique markings on your beautiful face! You do, indeed, look like a "got milk" commercial. You also have the prettiest almond-shaped golden eyes. You have plenty to smile about, Smiles: a loving home and a family who loves you forever. What more could a kitty want?
