Absolutely right , they are never"just" dogs or cats. Sorry you joined us on such a sad note. I liked the pic of your dogs, I'm thinking Buff was the one on the floor, the dark one? Right? They're both gorgeous anyway. If you don't know it already, check out one of Pet Talks very special links :

You are a very dedicated and special person and both your doggies know it. I hope you find consolation having a peek at the Rainbow Bridge but you can't visit it properly until it's time (you know). Buff Wuff will be there waiting for you, meanwhile he is playing and dozing in the sun, he has no cough or illness, he is well fed and happy except he is missing you but he knows you will be together again one day so he's just making the most of the sunshine and flowers and new friends meantime.

It's important to grieve. It's part of loving and living, and it's very healing to cry. Take care.

No, Buff is the little white/buff dog on couch. Britty, her big sister is on the floor. And yes, they ALWAYS have such happy doggy faces!

My parakeet just died a two months ago. I know its not like a dog but he was such a sweety. The happiest one in the world! He actually used to nuzzle me. I sometimes cry about him too. And you did the right thing by taking your friend that said that off your chrismas card list. A Dogs love lasts forever. They are special. They don't tell secrets or make fun of you.
